All Membrane Brine Concentrator (AMBC) system is a membrane concentration system based on the principle of semi-permeation and pressure driven membrane separation technology. By changing the osmotic pressure of solution on both sides of the membrane, the limitation of traditional reverse osmosis is overcome and the purpose of low energy consumption and high concentration is realized. It has the advantages of ultra-high concentration, low energy consumption, conventional high-pressure operation and low investment cost, and can be used as part of concentrated brine treatment or ZLD process.
The operating process of conventional operating conditions is similar to that of conventional seawater reverse osmosis, but concentrated brine with concentration of sodium chloride osmotic pressure can be generated above 16% (The module can be modified according to customer demand). The operating power consumption can be maintained within 9kwh/ ton of the feed water (under the condition of 7% sodium chloride in the influent water). It can be widely used in chemical industry, thermoelectricity, printing and dyeing, rare earth metallurgy, LPG production and other fields.
Under the condition of 7% concentration sodium chloride in the inflow, the typical power consumption of the AMBC system is 5-9kwh/ ton feed water. Table 1 is AMBC concentration system standard performance list. In the table, type 2 has a more complex structure than type 1, but it has lower operating energy consumption, which can be specifically configured according to customer requirements.
Compared with this, the three-effect falling-membrane evaporator consumes 350-400kg of steam and 20-30kwh of electricity per ton of water. If the steam price is calculated at 20% of the power cost, this is equivalent to 90-110kwh/m3 of energy consumption, which is 10-12 times higher than the AMBC concentration system.
Figure 1 shows the comparison between the super membrane concentration system and other concentration processes, indicating that this process has the advantages of ultra-high concentration, low energy consumption and high economic value compared with other concentration processes. AMBC concentration system is suitable for the reconcentration of concentrated brine or as the preconcentration process of evaporator.
